Last time I wrote, I was expecting to start a clinical trial. That fell through, unfortunately. Instead, I’ve completed two weeks of radiation, followed by a month-long break, and now I’m getting ready to start chemotherapy.
I just got back from labs and a neuro-oncologist appointment. She said my MRI from yesterday looks better than any in the fall. The swelling has gone down a lot.
I can start chemo next week. I will take six cycles. Each cycle is 5 days of pills I take at home, at night. Because I have an allergy to the chemo, I have to take a bunch of pills to help me not have hives all over.
BUT I see a cancer-nutritionist and she is great. The good news is that her low-histamine diet helps me a lot. It involves avoiding things like sugar, gluten, corn, nightshades, a few kinds of fruits, and … caffeine.
We are going to MD Anderson in Houston next week to see if they have anything new to say. We might use that doctor, Dr. Weathers, who we’ve been trying to see since way back in October! We think we can use her as our doctor once we see her in person. Fingers crossed. She is known for being an expert on the recurrence of this kind of tumor.
Here’s a song, “Beautifully” by Fave:
Love all a ya’ll
through time
& space

Cassie
sending big love.
Hell yes, you got this woman--cancer doesn't stand a chance if you were able to kick caffeine.
You = Resilient AF
Sending power reserves your way.
